Realme X vs Realme 3 Pro: price in India, specifications compared

“The Realme X is the company’s first smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera and a whopping 48-megapixel sensor”

Realme has added two new smartphones to its portfolio – the Realme X and Realme X Lite. While the latter is a rebranded version of the Realme 3 Pro smartphone in China, the former is the company’s first phone with pop-up selfie camera and a 48-megapixel primary camera. Does that make the handset any better than the Realme 3 Pro? That’s exactly we’re going to find out in this comparison. So without any further ado, let’s begin with our Realme X vs Realme 3 Pro (review) comparison.

Realme X

Realme X vs Realme 3 Pro price

The Realme X price has been set at RMB 1,499 (~Rs 15,400), RMB 1,599 (~Rs 16,400), and RMB 1,799 (~Rs 18,400) for the 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 64GB, and 8GB + 128GB variants, respectively. The smartphone has been confirmed to launch in India, so we will know more about its local pricing then. As for the Realme 3 Pro price in India, the 4GB + 64GB variant costs Rs 13,999, while the 6GB + 64GB variant has been priced at Rs 15,999. The top variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage costs Rs 17,999.

Realme X vs Realme 3 Pro: specifications and design

In terms of design, the Realme X is a completely different smartphone from the company’s stable. The fascia of the handset has no gimmicky notch or bezel whatsoever. All you will get is a 6.5-inch AMOLED screen with full-HD+ resolution and an impressive 91.2 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Realme 3 Pro, on the other hand, has a 6.3-inch IPS display, with a dewdrop notch up top and a screen-to-body ratio of 90.8 percent. The screen also has a full-HD+ resolution, but Realme X display should offer a more immersive experience.

Realme 3 Pro

The back panel of both Realme X and Realme 3 Pro smartphones have gradient finish with glass layer up top. The factor differentiating the two is the cameras. The Realme X has a vertically-aligned rear camera module at the center of the panel, while the Realme 3 Pro has it at the top-right corner. Also, the latter has a fingerprint sensor at the back and former has the sixth-generation in-display fingerprint sensor.

The Realme X and Realme 3 Pro smartphones are both equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 SoC integrated with HyperBoost 2.0, which is said to improve gaming performance by enhancing the Touch Boost by 16.2 percent and Frame Boost while gaming by 38 percent. Therefore, there shouldn’t be any difference between the two handsets in terms of performance, but the Realme X should be slightly faster thanks if you opt for 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. However, we will be able to determine that only after a full review. The Realme X also comes in 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 64GB storage variants. The Realme 3 Pro, on the other hand, maxes out at 6GB RAM and 128GB storage option. There is also 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of the phone as well.

For photography, the Realme X comes with a whopping 48-megapixel (f/1.7 aperture) primary sensor, accompanied by a secondary 5-megapixel (f/2.4) depth sensor on the rear. The pop-up selfie camera on the handset houses 16-megapixel shooter. The Realme 3 Pro, meanwhile, sports an impressive 25-megapixel selfie shooter camera on the front and sports a 16-megapixel (f/1.7) + 5-megapixel (f/2.4) setup on the rear.

Both the handsets boot Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 out of the box. On the battery front, the Realme 3 Pro has an upper hand over its elder sibling, with a whopping 4,045mAh battery cell compared to 3,765mAh cell. They both are backed by OPPO’s VOOC 3.0 fast charging tech.

Realme 3 Pro review new021

The Realme X smartphone gets the better of the Realme 3 Pro, at least on paper. The handset offers more screen real-estate, superior display quality, optical scanner, and a 48-megapixel primary camera. However, there are a couple of trade-offs. The battery on Realme X is smaller than the 3 Pro, and the front camera has less megapixel count. Therefore, if you’re more into selfies and want a long-lasting battery from your handset, you should stick to the Realme 3 Pro smartphone.
