The Indian benchmark indices are trading on a positive note with Nifty up 54 points, trading at 11,276, while the Sensex gained 208 points and is trading at 37,527.
Nifty Auto gained half a percent led by Eicher Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki and TVS Motor Company.
From the oil & gas space, the top gainers are Reliance Industries, BPCL, HPCL and Indian Oil Corporation.
IT stocks are also buzzing led by Infosys, Tata Elxsi, Tech Mahindra and TCS.
However, media stocks are trading in the red with loses from Zee Entertainment which is down over 5 percent followed by Dish TV.
India VIX is up 0.59 percent at 27.29 levels.
The top Nifty gainers included Tata Steel, Eicher Motors, BPCL, M&M and UPL while Zee Entertainment, Tata Motors, YES Bank, Coal India and Grasim Industries are the top losers.
The most active stocks were Reliance Industries, YES Bank, SBI, SRF and ITC.
Titan Company, DCB Bank, DCM Shriram, Merck and SRF have hit new 52-week high on NSE.
86 stocks hit new 52-week low on NSE including ABG Shipyard, Eveready Industries, ABG Shipyard, Global Offshore, IL&FS Transportation Networks, Mcnally Bharat Engineering, Mcleod Russel and Mercator among others.
The breadth of the market favoured the advances as 1025 stocks advanced and 593 declined while 474 remained unchanged on the NSE. On the BSE, 1171 stocks advanced, 767 declined and 154 remained unchanged.
