Share market update: FMCG shares trade lower; P&G down 1%

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading with losses in Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare (down 0.95 per cent), Godrej Industries (down 0.88 per cent), Dabur India (down 0.87 per cent) and United Spirits (down 0.86 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.

Britannia Industries (down 0.65 per cent), Hindustan Unilever (down 0.52 per cent), United Breweries (down 0.28 per cent) and ColgatePalmolive (India) (down 0.24 per cent) too were trading lower.

Meanwhile, the Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.14 per cent up at 29,276.10 around 10:57 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 49.35 points at 11,271.40 while the BSE Sensex was up 201.35 points at 37,519.88.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Union Bank India, SBI, SAIL, DHFL, ZEEL, PC Jeweller, Dish TV India and ITC were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
