After ‘Tevar’ and ‘Mom’, famous Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor is all set to shoot his next film – a biopic on the life of a lesser known Indian football coach – in Uttar Pradesh.

Kapoor disclosed this during his meeting with UP’s additional chief secretary Avnish Awasthi and information director Shishir at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow on Tuesday.

The biopic will have actor Ajay Devgn and Kirti Suresh in the lead.

The biopic is going to be based on the life of Abdul Raheem, a football coach under whose guidance Indian football team put up a wonderful show in 1950s and 60s, Kapoor said.

“He was an inspiration coach under whose guidance the Indian football team had won gold in 1951 New Delhi Asian Games and Jakarta Asian Games of 1962. In 1956 Melbourne Olympics the Indian Football team had reached till the semi-finals,” Kapoor said during his meeting with UP government officials.

Kapoor said he had come to Lucknow in connection with the shooting of ‘Kargil girl’ that stars his daughter Jahnvi Kapoor.

The film is based on the life of Gunjan Saxena, woman pilot from the first batch of women pilots to be inducted in the air force.

In April the state government had decided to provide an incentive of Rs 2 crore to some some well known filmmakers like Kapoor along with Muzaffar Ali and Pankaj Tiwari for shooting their films in the state.

Interestingly, BJP’s Gorakhpur candidate Ravi Kishan, a popular Bhojpuri actor turned politician, has promised to set up a Bhojpuri film studio and provide jobs to nearly a lakh youths.
