GREATER NOIDA: The Times School of Media is inviting applications for admission to its newly launched Post-graduate Diploma in Digital Media, a skill-based programme geared to produce the next generation of digital storytellers and marketers.
The School, which is part of the Bennett University, has been set up by the Times Group, India's largest media conglomerate, and is fast emerging as the top media school in the country.
A unique feature of the one-year Post-graduate Diploma programme which will be conducted in English is the stress on practical work. The curriculum, which has been prepared in consultation with Times Internet Editors, will prepare students to tweet breaking news; push news alerts on mobile phones; flesh out reports for being read on iPads, tablets and laptops; create long form narratives of 1,500 words or more for being consumed on the web; shoot and edit exciting videos on mobile phones; podcast and create content for social media platforms.
The students will also get to work on the highly advanced Times Group's Content Management System to upload their report on timesofbennett.com, the student website and use Canva to make web graphics.
At the end of the course, they will be ready to work across digital platforms in media houses, industries and government organizations in roles involving digital content creation, content management, search engine optimisation and digital marketing.
The course is open to students who have done graduation and are now looking for an exciting industry-specific programme that can provide them the skills to become a digital storyteller.
There are only 30 seats, and admission is based on an online entrance test that will check the proficiency of students in English language.
