Fuel price not expected to change much in June - AA

The price of fuel is not expected to change much in June, according to the latest projection by the Automobile Association.

"The overall picture is of little change," the AA said on Wednesday, after reviewing unaudited mid-month fuel price data released by the Central Energy Fund.

While the rand had weakened somewhat, the international price of oil had also declined.

The AA said this points to a seven cents-a-litre reduction in the price of petrol. Diesel is expected to increase by about 12 cents, and illuminating paraffin by nine cents.

This excludes the introduction of a Carbon Tax in June, and will add an additional nine cents per litre to the petrol price, and ten cents to the diesel price.
