The sale of Boeing's 737 for 2019 dropped by 171 units in April as the plane-maker adjusted its orders after Jet Airways shut its operations over financial distress, Bloomberg reported.

As many as 196 orders of the 737 models have been dropped from Boeing's order book in 2019 alone, and there have been 25 sales of single-aisle planes. The company is required to remove any orders from its books that may not materialize in the near future.

Boeing has been working to get its Boeing 737 Max back in the good books of governments worldwide after it was involved in two crashes within five months of each other and grounded.

The 737 Max was Boeing's best-selling model, and Jet was one of the major customers, with a deal for 200 of Boeing's 737 Max aircraft that was in the works with the airline before it halted operations on April 17.

None of the jets had been delivered to the carrier before it shut operations last month, and Boeing executives had hinted recently that these orders would be taken off the backlog.Jet Airways can only resume operations if it is infused with Rs 15,000 crore.

Boeing delivered 23 jets in April, which included nine older generation 737 models which were not impacted by the grounding. Also, 12 of Boeing's 787 Dreamliners were also sold in the same month.
