Class 12 student raped in Gaya, police file FIR

patna Updated: May 16, 2019 01:04 ISTA student of class 12 was raped in Gaya on Tuesday and abandoned along the roadside, while she was on her way home from a coaching institute. The police have registered an FIR against another class 12 student and launched an investigation after the medical examination of the survivor was completed. The police have also conducted raids at several places to arrest the culprit, who is absconding. The survivor is currently undergoing treatment at the Sherghati hospital

The police said that the girl was returning from a coaching institute on Monday evening when the accused abducted her near the Magadh university and took her to an isolated place. He physically assaulted her, before raping her and abandoning her by the roadside.
The girl went home after regaining consciousness and narrated the incident to her family members who immediately decided to lodge an FIR against the accused. The girl was taken to the Shergati hospital for a medical examination. “We are still waiting for the medical report and steps have already been initiated to ensure arrest of the accused,’’ said Sherghati police station SHO Udai Kumar.
