BJP leader and the former Minister K.S. Eshwarappa has accused the former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of behaving as if he is the only backward community leader. Speaking to media persons during his private visit here on Monday, he said that Mr. Siddaramaiah has become “unquestionable” in the Congress, and, thus, he is acting as per his whims and fancies.

He said that Mr. Siddaramaiah is dreaming of becoming Chief Minister again. “As he (Mr. Siddaramaiah) is behaving in an insane manner, I would not prefer to respond to such behaviour. The Congress high command must get treatment for Mr. Siddaramaiah for his weird behaviour,” Mr. Eshwarappa said.

Claiming that the Congress earlier had some discipline, he said that after Mr. Siddaramaiah joined that party, discipline has vanished completely from that party.

On the statement of Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan, who had reportedly said that if BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa becomes Chief Minister again, he will work as watchman at Mr. Yeddyurappa’s house, Mr. Eshwarappa said that if people like Mr. Khan became watchmen, then there will arise a need to deploy more security personnel. To a question, he asserted that he was not aspiring for the post of Chief Minister nor the State party president.

Appu Pattanshetty

Meanwhile, Appu Pattanshetty, former Minister, has said that he was eligible for the post of the State BJP president. “The party should give a chance to a common worker who has remained loyal for decades,” he said.

On the statement of his bete noire and BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, who had said that he was a dynamic leader of the party, only after Mr. Yeddyurappa, Mr. Pattanshetty said that no one but only the party is dynamic.

On the statement of Mr. Yatnal that he has reserved his seat to Chief Minister after Mr. Yeddyurappa, Mr. Pattanshetty chided him saying it [the post] was not a bus or a train seat for anyone to reserve it. “The party leaders and high command will decide who is eligible for which post,” he said.

District party president Chandrashekhar Kavatagi and party leader Vijugouda Patil were present.
