Sweet uptrend for sugar continues

The steady rise in sugar prices continued at Vashi on Tuesday too on the hope of higher demand led by firm mill tender rates. On Monday, 15–16 mills offered tenders and sold about 54,000–55,000 bags at ₹3,120-3,160 a quintal for S-grade and ₹3,130–3,170 a quintal for M-grade. Bombay Sugar Merchants Association spot rates: S-grade ₹3,246-3,272 and M-grade ₹3,266-3,400. Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,195-3,205 and M-grade ₹3,235–3,260.
