CHENNAI: The central government has announced that admissions are open for
diploma courses in
Kalakshetra Foundation at
Thiruvanmiyur in Chennai.
The Institution of National Importance, founded by prominent dancer Rukmini Devi Arundale in 1936, was taken over by the Union ministry of culture in 1993.
The autonomous institution offers four-year diploma courses in Bharatanatyam and carnatic music (Vocal / Veena /Violin / Flute /Mridangam) and visual arts.
According to an official release, anybody who has successfully completed Class 12 is eligible to apply.
The last date to submit filled in application is May 31.
Interested applicants who want to pursue art as a career can
apply online.
