ReDigi Heads To The Supreme Court
Making Digital Resale a Reality For All Consumers

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., May 14, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- On Friday May 10th, ReDigi filed its request to be heard at the Supreme Court of the United States. ReDigi's Supreme Court Petition for Writ of Certiorari shows conclusively how the lower level courts erred in their findings and seeks to have those rulings overturned.
ReDigi, represented by Bob Welsh and Dennis Loomis of Baker Hostetler, strongly believes that the Supreme Court should hear the case due to its importance for all American consumers and their right to own and resell digital property.
ReDigi is the brainchild of John Ossenmacher (Founder, CEO and Chairman) who has been dedicated to seeing digital resale become a reality for American consumers and to unlocking the billions of dollars of digital property wealth currently on people's devices.
ReDigi is the World's First and only secondary digital marketplace where consumers can resell legally acquired digital property (books, software, games, movies, music, etc.).
ReDigi has been granted US patents that make possible the copy-less transfer of digital property between parties.
ReDigi created the first cloud computing and block-chain methods used to ensure a legal way to own and transfer digital property between buyers and sellers without making copies.
The Facts about ReDigi:
1. Technology; ReDigi technology is copy-less and has been seen as novel, the company has the patents to support this claim, ReDigi does not copy and delete.
2. Artist and Authors; ReDigi users pay Artists and Authors typically more than they receive when their works are sold new. ReDigi also gives copyright holders more control of their copyrights, than labels and publishers, when they distribute through ReDigi.
3. The Market at risk; Consumers purchase billions of dollars of digital property every year including music, which sold over 1.3 Billion in 2018. Importantly, consumers have billions of dollars in locked up wealth, from the digital property they have purchased over the years, on their devices.
ReDigi looks forward to being heard at the Supreme Court and to seeing digital resale becoming a reality for all consumers just as the First Sale Doctrine has supported this status quo for over a century.
