COIMBATORE: In a case of previous enmity, a four-member gang Tuesday chased and hacked two people, just a km away from the police commissionerate and district collectorate here, police said.
The attack took place in full public view when a 19-year-old juvenile involved in a petty case and on bail was returning along with his friend after signing at the 2nd Judicial Magistrate court, the police said.
The assailants on two motorcycles chased the juvenile and his friend for nearly 500 metres and attacked them with sickles and knives, they said.
The victims fell unconscious in the middle of the road, and the gang fled, the police said.

On information, police rushed to the spot and took the injured to a hospital, they said.
Preliminary inquiry revealed the gang had previous enmity with the two. A search is on for the four, the police said.
