The Grand Opening of Indo International Premier Kabaddi League (IIPKL) was held at Shri Shivachattrapati Stadium, Balewadi, Pune on Monday. Famous actress Kainaat Arora and dance crew MJ5, North India’s star singers MDKD and Patriotic singer Miss. Kavi Singh performed on the opening ceremony of IIPKL.

Several prominent personalities from all walks including guests from UAE and other countries graced the occasion. The eight teams participating in the league are Banglore Rhinos, Chennai Challengers, Diler Delhi, Telugu Bulls, Mumbai Che Raje, Pune Pride, Haryana Heros and Pondy Predators.
Prasad Babu who had played several Kabaddi matches at National and International level, informed that the 44 matches between eight teams will be held in three cities i.e Pune, Mysore and Banglore from May 13 to June 4. The prizes worth several crores will be given away to winning teams.

Director of IIPKL Ravikiran said that the idea of organizing Kabaddi league is to promote our indigenous game of Kabaddi and take it to nook and corner of India and finally take Kabaddi to the Olympics. The winning team will get prize money of Rs 1.25 crores, first runner up will get Rs 75 lakh, Rs 50 lakh as third prize and Rs 25 lakh as fourth prize. He also added that IIPKL is very happy to share the maximum money to the franchises and the players and this is for the first time that the players are also the stake holders.

Leading corporate houses, prominent personalities and sports enthusiasts are associated with the league. The league is being telecasted live across the globe on DSport , DD Sports and MTV along with series of regional channels and on digital platforms.
