Nissan is presenting its new NV250 compact van for European markets, but the badges are the only things that belong to the Japanese automaker — everything else is a Renault Kangoo.

Going on sale across Europe from September 2019, the NV250 is available with multiple engine and interior configurations, two body lengths, and a wide range of conversions. The Nissan NV250 is also available in Panel Van, Crew Cab, and Combi body styles.

The panel van version is offered in two body lengths (4.28m/168.5in and 4.67m/183.8in) and comes with several seating configurations. The Crew version is only available with the longer wheelbase and offers a maximum of four seats and multi-positional bulkhead for versatile cargo space. As for the Combi passenger variant, it only comes as a short model with five seats and “ample luggage room.”

The Nissan NV250 offers a maximum payload of up to 800 kg (1,764 lbs) for the long wheelbase panel van version. Available conversions include wood paneling in the cargo area, wheelchair access through the rear door, and optional extras such as onboard refrigeration units.

The engine lineup consists of a 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel engine available in three states of tune: 80 PS (79 hp), 95 PS (94 hp), and 115PS (113 hp). The least powerful version is not available on the Crew Cab model.

“The new Nissan NV250 is the perfect compact van for small businesses with big aspirations. By enabling customers to choose the version that is just right for them, the NV250 encourages more agile business deliveries and greater leisure freedom,” said Paolo D’Ettore, Nissan Europe Light Commercial Vehicles Director.

The new NV250 will be offered alongside the e-NV200 all-electric compact van. Unlike the Renault Kangoo Z.E., the Nissan NV250 will not be available as an EV.
