This is the moment a rescue helicopter winched a man with serious head injuries to safety after falling 20ft down a mountain in Snowdonia .
Emergency crews were called to Glyder Fawr on Sunday afternoon after the climber fell and knocked himself out while descending from the mountain.
The man fell into a gully and had to be airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital - a major trauma centre - as a result of the fall.
Footage shows how the coastguard helicopter hovering overhead while rescuers secure the casualty before he is winched up and flown to hospital for treatment.
Chris Lloyd, from the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue team , said the man was with two friends from the London area who had arrived in North Wales for a weekend of rock climbing.
He said: "While walking and scrambling down the descent path, one man took a tumbling fall.

"It was an unfortunate incident. He fell on his landed on his face and head. Fortunately one of his colleagues was an A&E doctor who was able to give him immediate assistance."
An Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team spokesman added: "The coastguard helicopter, which was already airborne, went direct to scene whilst team members also deployed.
"The winchman and team members were able to stabilise the casualty, package him in a vacmat and stretcher, and then he was flown direct to Stoke trauma centre due to the potential serious nature of his injuries."
