Actor Mohanlal will begin shooting for his upcoming Malayalam action thriller Big Brother from July 1, according to director Siddique. The Lucifer actor and Siddique are reuniting for the third time after films such as Vietnam Colony and Ladies and Gentleman.

With the team slated to start shooting from June 20, Mohanlal will join the sets from July 1. “It’s a project that I discussed with Mohanlal last year. The final draft of the script is almost ready. I’ve been waiting to do this film for a year. It will have all the ingredients that you have seen in my earlier films - action, romance, comedy, drama,” Siddique was quoted in a report by Cinema Express.

He went on to reveal that Arbaaz Khan has been signed to play the antagonist. The project will mark his Malayalam debut.

“Arbaaz is playing the antagonist. It’s a full-length role. He is currently shooting for brother Salman’s Dabangg 3 and is expected to join the sets of Big Brother after that,” he said.

It’s worth mentioning that Siddique has previously directed Salman Khan in the Hindi remake of his own Malayalam film, Bodyguard.

Regina Cassandra and Satna Titus are expected to be playing the female leads. However, Siddique said they haven’t yet taken a final call on heroines for the project. The director has set aside 85 days for the shoot of Big Brother, which will be predominantly shot in Kochi and Bangalore. The rest of the cast includes Chemban Vinod Jose, Siddique, Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Janardhan, and Tini Tom.
