Nagpur: The air was filled with nostalgia as Nagpurians took a stroll down the memory lane and swayed to the tunes and beats of all time Bollywood romantic hits as Swarmilan organized ‘Zindagi pyaar ka geet hai’ a melange of romantic numbers from the gone by era, at Mor Hindi Bhavan in Sitabuldi, on Tuesday.
The evening commenced with the devotional Saraswati Vandana and Shiv Vandana sung by Meera Sharma and Smriti Bhattacharya respectively. Anchor Omprakash Sahu shared some common interests of lovers in the era gone by and entertained the audience.
The air was full of energy as the audience clapped and swayed along with Swarmilan’s talented singers as they belted out hits after hits, reaching a total of 30 songs. Rajesh Naik’s rendition of ‘Pyar hamara amar rahega’ set the tone of the evening and there was no looking back thereafter.
Following this were famous numbers like ‘Raat ka sama jhoome chandrama’ by Sangeeta Kamanwar, ‘Tu jahan jahan chalega’ by Poonam Sharma, ‘Akhiyon ke jharoke se’ by Anjali Wankhede, ‘Aaja aayi bahar’ by Dr Rashmi Kole, ‘Yaad aayi aadhi raat ko’ by Latesh Khurana and ‘Pyar deewana hota hai’ rendered by Jayprakash Malviya.
The theme of the evening was celebrating love, as the title suggests and Swarmilan left no stone unturned in delivering exactly what they had promised. Thus began the mesmerizing duet performances with ‘Wada kar le saajna’ by Sunil Wadhwani and Kranti Bhagat. Later, the duos of Sanjay Pillay-Sangeeta Kamanwar, Manoj Karade-Madhavi Ughade, Latesh Khurana-Meera Sharma and Sushila Chouhan-Rajesh Naik enthralled the audience with peppy numbers like ‘Do sitaron ka zameen par’, ‘Pardesiya ye sach hai piya’, ‘Tere hothon ke do phool’, ‘Gun guna rahe hai’ and ‘Mehboob mere mehboob’.
The song selection was liked and appreciated by the audience whose thunderous applause remained constant throughout the evening. Organizer as well as a performer Jayprakash Malviya dedicated the success of the show to the concept developers — Sulbha Mandekar and Sanjay Pillay — as well as the singers who practised diligently for their performances.
Special guest Mahesh Tiwari appreciated the efforts of Swarmilan and commended the group for putting up a brilliant show.
