BENGALURU: A 27-year-old MBBS graduate was arrested after the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) found he’d produced fake documents to get a post-graduate medical seat in Karnatakata.
The accused is Rajesh Kumar Roy from Bihar, who appeared for NEET PG examinations.
Police said when Rajesh came for document verification on March 23, his papers appeared to be forged. He was asked to appear with the documents again on April 26. By then, the KEA found they were fake.
When asked on April 26, Rajesh confessed he forged them after a middleman suggested him to do so. He had got an MD (general medicine) seat in Sapthagiri Medical College.

KEA administrative officer Shilpa M said they do not know why Rajesh submitted fake documents. Students cannot apply for two seats at the same time, but there is a chance that Rajesh could have applied for two colleges by forging documents, she said.
But police said it appeared to be a racket where students’ markcards are forged to get seats and later they are made to surrender them, so that they could be diverted to ineligible candidates.
