Bulls CEO: We can't fault Pollard's decision to leave

    2019-05-14 16:22

Cape Town - The Bulls have thanked flyhalf Handre Pollard for his service over the last six years with it confirmed on Tuesday that he will be relocating to France at the end of this year's World Cup.

Pollard, currently preparing in Melbourne with the Bulls squad to play the Rebels on Friday, indicated his intention to the Blue Bulls Company when a renewal of his contract came up for discussion.

The 25-year-old, who joined the Bulls straight out of school, has scored 581 points (nine tries, 110 penalties, 88 conversions and four drop goals) for the franchise.

He has played 56 times for the Bulls thus far and became a Springbok in 2014.

"Handre has been a true servant for us for six years. He has been an outstanding asset, not only to the teams he played for, but also our supporters, to whom he endeared himself from early on with his attitude towards the Bulls," said Blue Bulls Company CEO, Alfons Meyer.

"He will be missed for sure, but we cannot fault his decision to continue his career in France. We wish him well."

It was also confirmed on Tuesday, meanwhile, that former Springbok flyhalf Morne Steyn will be returning to the Bulls from next season.
