Indore: The kingpin of RS1,100 crore bogus transaction and Rs150 crore Input Tax Credit (ITC) scam Raju Thakkar have been sent to judicial custody on Tuesday. Following completion of interrogation by officers of Central Goods and Service Tax (CGST) Department Indore, Thakkar was produced in the court of the Judicial Magistrate First Class Vipin Bhadoria on Tuesday.
Senior advocate Chandan Airen from the CGST informed the court that the department has completed interrogation of the accused. The court then ordered to send him to judicial custody till May 24. As per the court’s order, “Raju’s CGST custody was ending on May 15, but they produced him one day ahead as they have collected all required information from him. On Wednesday hearing will be held on the bail application of Raju”.
