Aurangabad: An expelled Aurangabad corporator from All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (MIM), Sayyed Mateen, has been arrested after a woman accused him of raping her at gun-point.
In her complaint, the victim, a Chakan resident, has said that Mateen would take her from her house to various places and rape her. From November 26 to February 2019, he took her to a water park in Lonavala. Krishnanagar Residency, Baramati, Town Hall and Girija Lodge in Sharnapur among the many places where he raped the woman.
Finally, at Harsul in Aurangabad, the victim was given a sedative and was raped repeatedly. She has also stated that the accused made her sign on many blank papers. The brother-in-law and brother of Mateen have been named by the lady. Mateen is currently in jail for a previous rape offence registered by Aurangabad City Chowk Police station in January, after a woman accused him of sexual assault on the pretext of getting her a job. He was arrested a month ago.
Known for a series of controversies which embarrassed the AIMIM in the past three years, in August 2018, Mateen caused an uproar when he opposed a motion of tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the AMC general body meeting.
