TNPSC invites applications for English stenographer posts

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has invited applications for vacant assistant training officers (AROs) posts in the state employment and training department.
Selected candidates' scale of pay would be Rs 35,900-1,13,500 per month.
These AROs would either work as English stenographers or would pursue secretarial practice.
A pass in Class 10/12 and government technical examination in typewriting by senior and junior grades (formerly higher and lower) can apply for stenographers post.
Diploma in commercial practice with shorthand as elective subject is mandatory for the other post.
Preference will be given to those with one year experience, said TNPSC's official notification.
Those below 35 years of age can apply. There is no age limit for reserved category candidates, differently abled persons and ex-servicemen.
Interested candidates can apply by registering themselves at TNPSC's online portal (http://www.tnpsc.gov.in) by paying Rs 150.
May 20 is the last date to apply for these posts.
Besides registration, applicants should pay Rs 150 as exam fees.

The exam containing two papers -- general studies and subject paper -- will be conducted on June 22. Shortlisted candidates should take up an interview.
Selection will be based on overall performance.
