Season 8 of Game of Thrones hasn’t had it easy. After the infamous ‘coffee mug gate’ in The Last of the Starks, here’s a fresh gaffe from the latest episode. (Spoiler alert)

In the penultimate episode (The Bell) of Game of Thrones, Jaime Lannister unites with Cersei, his sister and beloved in the Red Keep area of King’s Landing. They meet, embrace and die in each other’s arms, minutes before the Red Keep collapses on them, having come under heavy bombardment from Daenerys Targaryen’s dragon.

However, in a promotional shot, Jaime no longer had his metallic fake hand and his real hand was clearly visible. It may be recalled that in Season 3, Jaime had lost his hand and had been given a metallic hand. However, in the episode that was finally aired, The Bells, Jaime’s fake hand was back but Twitter was in no mood to forgive. No sooner did the promotional shot appear, social media was flooded with reactions. The promo image is no longer available, says People.

In Game of Thrones’ episode 4, The Last of the Starks, a disposable coffee cup was seen on the table where Daenerys is seated during the great feast at Winterfell. Twitter was in splits at the coffee mug gaffe and HBO later digitally removed it from the episode.

As the popular HBO fantasy series draws to a close, its last season has come under heavy criticism, garnering very poor ratings. Review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes revealed on May 11 that the episode called The Last of the Starks, had been rated the second worst episode of the entire series and the final season is also the worst rated season in the history of the show. The disappointment seems to have continued with the penultimate episode too.
