Water released by Karantaka from Narayanpur dam to Jurala reservoir to meet the drinking water needs in combined Mahabubnagar district reached near Panchadevapad village of Makthal mandal in Narayanpet district on Tuesday afternoon and it is expected to reach Jurala by Wednesday morning.
According to officials of the Irrigation Department, the water crossed Panchadevapad village at 1 p.m. on Tuesday and it is expected to reach Jurala reservoir either late on Tuesday night or in the early hours of Wednesday. Officials are hopeful that at least 2 tmc ft water out of 2.5 tmc ft released by Karnataka would reach Jurala.
