The One Town police here are setting up high definition internet protocol (IP) cameras in the area and upgrading older cameras to IP ones to prevent untoward incidents in the month of Ramzan.
One Town Circle Inspector Vikram Sinha said IP cameras would have a separate command control centre at the One Town police station. “The new cameras would have a vision of 60 to 70 feet and cover a wider area,” he said.
There are 1,126 cameras in the area, mostly set up by shopkeepers. “IP cameras would be routed to one police station,” Mr. Sinha added.
Public places
The police are setting up cameras in public places and have divided the area into zones.
They are installing cameras in one zone per day.
