DMK president MK Stalin on Sunday reiterated that the Election Commission (EC) should not be a ‘chowkidar’ of the misdeeds and malpractices of the rulers.

Election Commission of India (ECI)
Chennai:
“The Elections that took place so far have only demonstrated that,” the DMK president remarked, adding that it was obvious from the statements of BJP leaders that they have lost faith in their own leadership.
“BJP seniors who have been claiming so far that no one other Prime Minister Narendra Modi was available to rule the country have started wondering who would be the PM if the Opposition forms govt? It is evident from the statement of the BJP leaders who claim that every party leader wants to be PM in the Opposition, that BJP seniors have lost faith in their own leadership,” said Stalin in a statement.
“Even the PM has stooped so low. Modi has reduced to such a pitiable level that he was making baseless allegations about Nehru and Rajiv Gandhi for want of achievements in his five-year tenure. It is a manifestation of his fear of defeat,” the DMK president who is also the Leader of Opposition added, accusing the BJP-led Centre and the ruling AIADMK in the state of engaging in atrocities like shifting EVMs and sending notice to MLAs fearing defeat.
Writing for his party organ Murasoli, Stalin said the people would not fall for the conspiracies and tricks of the rulers at the state and Centre, which would only end up disappointed by the same.
