Play on drought-hit farmers to be held in city on May 19

PUNE: Dushkal Nivaran Samanvay Samiti along with Prabhodhan Foundation, Vivek Vyaaspeeth and Vrindavan Foundation is organising a play ‘Terav’ on May 19 at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch. 

The play will be performed by the widows and daughters of those farmers who had committed suicide. This announcement was made at a press conference held at Patrakar Bhavan on Saturday.

While interacting with the media during the conference, Anita Dixit, President, Dushkal Nivaran Samanvay Samiti said, “We are organising this play in the city so that people from urban areas get an insight about the problems faced by rural areas, farmers and their family. We have been working in drought-affected areas like Marathwada, Latur and Beed since February. We have been supplying them with food grains and tumbler for the cattle to facilitate them in drinking water.”
