Kerala: Nandakumaran Thampuran passes away

KOCHI: Nandakumaran Thampuran, former head of department of physics at Guruvayurappan College, Kozhikode and member of Kochi royal family passed away here on Monday. He was 83.
Thampuran was undergoing treatment at Aster Medcity hospital for age-related illnesses. He joined the Guruvayurappan College in 1960 and retired after 28 years of service. The physics department of the college was considered the finest in the state at that time. Thampuran is survived by son T Jayashankar and daughter Shylaja. The cremation will be held at the palace crematorium at Tripunithura at 10.30am on Monday.
