NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court collegium has cleared the names of four judges for appointment as chief justices of the HCs of Delhi, Madhya Pradesh,
Telangana and Himachal Pradesh. It has also recommended elevation of two advocates as judges of the Madhya Pradesh HC.
The collegium, comprising Chief Justice of India
Ranjan Gogoi and Justices S A Bobde and N V Ramana recommended appointment of
Gujarat HC's Justice D N Patel as Chief Justice of the Delhi HC.
The collegium cleared the name of Bombay HC's Justice A A Kureshi to head the Madhya Pradesh High Court as its chief justice is set to retire. Justice V Ramasubramanian, the senior-most judge from the Madras HC and at present functioning in the Telangana HC, has been recommended for appointment as Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh HC. The collegium has already recommended Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh HC Justice Surya Kant for elevation to the Supreme Court as judge.
The collegium has also recommend elevation of advocates Vishal Dhagat, Vishal Mishra as judges of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
