BJP State president Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday alleged that DMK president M.K. Stalin was in two minds over forming post-poll alliances.
She was referring to Mr. Stalin’s meeting with Telangana Chief Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K. Chandrashekar Rao on Monday. She also said that the allegation by some AIADMK leaders that Mr. Stalin was attempting to hold talks with the BJP was true.
Addressing the public during an election campaign in support of AIADMK candidate S. Muniyandi in Tirupparankundram Assembly constituency, which is facing byelection on May 19, she said that Monday’s meeting of Mr. Stalin and Mr. Rao had made the Congress camp worried.
“Mr. Stalin was the only person in the country who endorsed that Congress president Rahul Gandhi must become the next Prime Minister. Now, he is also looking for other alliances,” he said.
She said that cancellation of a meeting of Opposition parties tentatively planned for May 21 and the meeting of Mr. Stalin with Mr. Rao were indications that the BJP was going to return to power.
