Dakota Hotels to open Manchester property

13 May 2019 by Mark Caswell

Dakota Hotels is set to open its fifth property this week, located close to Manchester’s Piccadilly Station.

Dakota Manchester features 137 rooms, with first floor Garden King rooms offering a private garden terrace, as well as Junior, Signature and Deluxe Suite categories, and a Grand Deluxe penthouse suite which Dakota says is the largest in the city.

Facilities include The Dakota Grill, a cocktail bar and Champagne Room, a waterside terrace which can be hired for up to 80 guests, and a cigar garden.

The hotel is located on Ducie Street, around five minutes north of Piccadilly Station, and joins existing Dakota properties in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Leeds.

Dakota Hotels was founded by hotelier Ken McCulloch, founder of the Malmaison brand, and responsible for the Aviator Hotel at Farnborough airport.

Commenting on the news McCulloch, said:

“The most important thing for me is a hotel that makes you feel special, it’s the finer details that make all the difference. I have only the simplest of tastes. I only want the best. It’s all about the simple things done brilliantly. There’s no place like home, but we’re working on it.”
