Swarmadhura dishes out series of hits

Nagpur: Satisfaction was writ large on attendee’s faces as experienced singers of Swarmadhura dished out a series of hit numbers of music composer duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal at Scientific Society Hall in Laxmi Nagar, on Sunday. The 20-year-old music group which had organized the programmes in India and abroad, staged ‘Everlasting Songs of Laxmikant Pyarelal’ in remembrance of the legendary duo.
Rajesh Duragkar, founder and director of Swarmadhura, sang along with singers Isha Ranade and Shruti Chaudhary. The audience was gripped with melody and nostalgia as the programme started off with the enduring hits of the legendary duo.
The event began with an all-time hit ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’ which was sung by Shruti. After this Rajesh presented ‘Mere mehboob aaj qayamat’. Rajesh and Shruti later shared the stage by singing ‘Na chahu sona’ and ‘Jhooth bole kauwa kate’. The joyful audience responded with loud claps and cheers.
As the programme proceeded, the audience was served with delightful songs like ‘Janewalo jara mudke’ performed by Rajesh, ‘Koi nahi hai phir bhi’ by Shruti. Followed by this, Isha and Shruti came up with duets ‘Kehdo ke tum’ and ‘Ye dil tum binn’.
Classical hits like ‘Akhiyo ko rehne do’, ‘Mai na bhulunga’, ‘Man kyun behka’, ‘Sheesha ho ya dil’ and ‘Ek hasina thi’ kept pouring in. A total of 27 songs were sung.

The event was anchored by Shweta Shelgaonkar who kept the audience engaged by sharing anecdotes. The lighting and the pictures played in the background added to the overall charm.
Mahendra Dhole (keyboard), Pravin Lihitkar (guitar), Arvind Upadhyay (flute), Amar Shinde (violin) and Shubhash Wankhede (drums) accompanied the singers to perfection.
