VARANASI: Two BJP MLAs from Aurai and Bairia were booked for allegedly assaulting a presiding officer and violating the model code of conduct during voting for the high-voltage phase six of Lok Sabha polls on Sunday.
Dinanath Bhaskar, BJP MLA from Aurai in Bhadohi district, and his supporters went to booth number 359 at Lakshmana village and allegedly thrashed the presiding officer Radheshyam, accusing him of poll rigging.

District election officer Rajendra Prasad and Bhadohi SP Rajesh S reached the spot soon after being informed.
