A total of 228 children from tribal settlements in Malabar are now catching the latest in children’s films across the world at the International Children’s Film Festival of Kerala, organised by the Kerala State Child Welfare Council.
For at least a few of them, it was their first time watching movies on a big screen.
Among the participants are 52 students from Malappuram, 25 from Kannur, 50 from Thrissur and 46 from Kasaragod.
There also 55 students from tribal settlements in Kollam district. The Child Welfare Council has arranged the food and accommodation for them in the city.
They will be at the festival for three days, after which students from tribal settlements in other districts will arrive here.
