Details of KG sections to be uploaded on EMIS

Coimbatore: Even as schools in the district are busily uploading and updating information about students and teachers on the online portal Education Management Information System (EMIS), the school education department has said information about kindergarten classes in government schools would also be updated in EMIS.
The department has asked for details of teachers and students of kindergarten classes in 120 government schools in the district to be uploaded on EMIS.
Officials from the district school education department said the work for uploading the details was almost over and would be completed in a week. “The process of uploading details is underway. Almost 90% of the work is complete,” said an official.
The EMIS portal will have complete profile of a school, including the details of teaching and non-teaching staff members and students. The details of a school and its students would be regularly updated in the portal, which would make it easy for officials to monitor them. Apart from the academic details of students, their personal details also would be uploaded in the portal.
The admission details of the school would also be updated in the portal, which would enable officials to identify schools where admissions are poor and to provide positive interventions.
The state nodal officer for EMIS has asked all government, government-aided and private schools across the state to upload their information on the portal.
