Aditya Seal compares Student of the Year 2 to Avengers: ‘People believe superheroes exist, but give us flak for it’
Aditya Seal believes if Student of the Year 2 is fantastical, so is Avengers: Endgame.
bollywood Updated: May 13, 2019 16:31 ISTStudent of the Year 2 actor Aditya Seal has expressed his chagrin at the fact that people will believe the concept of superheroes in a film like Avengers: Endgame but find the portrayal of student life in his film unrealistic. In an interview, the actor was asked about fantastical portrayal in SOTY, to which he responded, “That is exactly the section of society who will watch Avengers and love it and believe that superheroes exist, but they will give us flak for it.”
He went on to say that while “haters will be haters, they will still come and watch it”. Expanding on the theme how Avengers and Student of the Year 2 both have fantasy at their heart, he added, “This is a fantasy. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of a school like this, where you have such amazing looking people and the school is this good? We are just trying to create a world for people where they can just watch it and be like, ‘Oh, I wish I was a part of this!’ When I watch Avengers, I want to be a part of it. I want to be Tony Stark/Iron Man. The same way, we are trying to create a world for them.”
Directed by Punit Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar, Student of the Year 2 has gone on to earn Rs 38.83 crore at the box office. The film, starring debutantes Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria, largely received unflattering reviews but has managed to find its core audience.
