“Xiaomi also said it sold a record 2.5 lakh Redmi Note 7 series units per week since its launch in April”
Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain has taken to Twitter has announced the company would launch a new phone with 48MP rear camera in India very soon. Though he didn’t reveal any details, it could be the phone with Snapdragon 730 SoC that the brand teased recently. Rumours suggest it could be the Mi A3, the successor to the last year’s Mi A2 smartphone, and should be a part of the Android One program. It is expected to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 32MP pop-up selfie snapper.
Furthermore, Jain also mentioned that the brand had sold over 2 million units of Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro in India in just two months, meaning it sold over 2.5 lakh units a week since launch. This comes just hours after a report by Counterpoint Research claimed Realme 3 Pro was the top-selling smartphone model in online sales in March 2019. The Realme 3 Pro was said to have a 10.4 percent market share, while the two Redmi Note 7 series handsets were pegged at 10.2 percent each.
To recall, both the Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro sport 6.3-inch full-HD+ display with a slight notch on top, run on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 skin on top and pack dual rear camera setup. While the former is powered by the Snapdragon 660, the latter gets a more powerful Snapdragon 675 chipset. A 4,000mAh battery fuels both the models.
