Toyota first launched its Prius back in 2005 and it has sold over 1.52-million units since then.
With the new version being launched two years ago, the automaker has refreshed the Prius with a simple yet dynamic design.

Pricing for the new Prius is R486 000. Toyota SA says it comes with all the bells and whistles so the only choice you have to make is its body colour.
Toyota and Lexus has been a front-runner in the SA hybrid market and despite the Prius' reputation as a comfortable and reliable vehicle, it hasn't translated in major sales.
With the ever-increasing petrol price, a hybrid such as the Prius, which has a fuel consumption of 4.4-litres/100km, it could be a more viable choice in SA in 2019. And, it looks a whole lot better than almost two decades ago!
So what's new?
Toyota says there are two new colours which have been added to the monochrome colour palette: fierce red and sky metallic blue.
