Indore: The infant, who was found abandoned in Baneshwarkund, died during treatment in MY Hospital later on Sunday night. “She was a girl child and not a transgender,” said Banganga police station incharge Indramani Tripathi. The infant was found near the pond in Baneshwarkund around 8am on Sunday. A woman had taken the infant to the MY hospital from where police were informed. It was believed that the infant was transgender but the doctor said that newborn baby was female. Her parents or a person, who had abandoned her, could not be traced till Monday night.
The police have registered a case under relevant section of the IPC against unidentified persons for abandoning the girl child due to which her condition deteriorated and she died during the treatment. Investigating officer SI Kujur said that the efforts to trace the person, who abandoned girl child, are on. The CCTVs installed around the spot and the main road also being scanned to find out the accused.
