The first edition of the Indo-International Premier Kabaddi League (IPKL) will kick-start at the Balewadi Sports Complex in Pune on Monday.

“I can’t wait for the event to start (on Monday). I am looking forward to our first clash and we will leave no stone unturned to ensure victory,” said Pune captain Dalbir Malik ahead of the curtain raiser. Haryana captain Amit expressed similar thoughts.
“We have assembled a strong unit, winning will be our motto. There are a lot of talented kabaddi players in India and IPKL will allow them to showcase their talent.”
The live broadcast of the league will start from 7:00 pm on D SPORT (English) whereas M TV and M TV HD+, DD SPORTS & Polimer Music will broadcast it in Hindi from May 13.
Home team Pune Pride will lock horns with Haryana Heroes in the competition opener. The Pune leg will play host to 20 matches before the league moves to Mysuru and then Bengaluru. Eight franchises will battle it out for the title over a period of 23 days, with a total cash prize of Rs 4 Cr on offer.
