Indore: Two days after Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) announced BEd second semester results after carrying out evaluation twice, the BEd second semester students, who could not clear exams, on Monday staged a protest on RNT Marg campus demanding the initial results. The initial evaluation of answer books threw up unbelievable results wherein 96 per cent students cleared the exams. Suspecting malpractice, the DAVV ordered for review of answer books of six out of 10 subjects and found a significant decline in pass percentage.
The pass percentage dropped from 96 to 59. Two days after the results were released, students, who flunked exams, staged a demonstration stating that the results with 96 pass percentage should be declared. Though vice-chancellor Dr Naredra Dhakad rejected their demand, he constituted a three-member committee comprising additional director (higher education) KN Chaturvedi to probe into the malpractice took place in the initial evaluation of answer books. The committee has been directed to submit its report within 15 days.
