Nagesh Mudiraj and VHR were involved in an ugly brawl

Taking a serious view of the unruly behaviour, the Disciplinary Action Committee of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee on Thursday suspended its party general secretary Nagesh Mudiraj.

The panel comprising chairman M. Kodanda Reddy, co-chairman A. Shyam Mohan, convenor B. Kamalakar Rao and member C.J. Srinivas Rao met here at Gandhi Bhavan.

A statement released by the panel said the DAC has received complaints from party functionaries with regard to the indecent behaviour and ugly brawl with senior Congress leader and former PCC president V. Hanumantha Rao at an all-party dharna last week.

The committee said being a PCC general secretary, Mr. Nagesh should have restrained himself but indulged in serious confrontation with the senior Congress leader, which is totally condemnable, when dharna was conducted on a sensitive issue relating to the student's suicides. “Due to your salacious attitude, the prestige of the party has been damaged. This type of activity definitely attracts disciplinary rules of the party organisation,” the statement said.

It may be mentioned here that Mr. Nagesh and Hanumantha Rao had entered into heated arguments at the all-party dharna at Indira Park on the student suicide issue over seating arrangement.
