ALLAHABAD: The partially burnt body of an Ola cab driver was recovered near Fatua village under the limits of Sarayinayat police station in Trans-Ganga area on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Mansoor Hasan (28), a resident of Cantt area.
Hasan had left his house to pick up a client from Naini railway station and was missing for the past two days.
“Detailed investigations are underway and two police teams have already been constituted to crack down the incident,” SP (City) Brijesh Srivastava told TOI.
“The deceased, according to his family members, had left the house two days back to pick up a passenger in Trans-Yamuna area and did not turn up," he added.
Hasan's cab was recovered near Transport Nagar area. Police found blood stains inside the vehicle and they have sought help of forensic experts to crack the case.
“After preliminary investigations, police came to know that the unidentified killers had used acid to conceal the identity of the driver," the SP said.
