Gold paste recovered from two air passengers

‘It was concealed in their inner wear’

The Air Intelligence wing of Customs on Saturday intercepted two passengers flying from Sharjah and recovered 554.8 gms of gold.

While one passenger was bound for Visakhapatam the other was for Hyderabad.

The Customs officials intercepted them based on concrete intelligence inputs.

The gold was being smuggled in the form of paste and was concealed in their inner wear.

The smuggled gold is estimated to be around ₹18 lakh in Indian market. Further investigation is under progress.
