Mumbai: 16-year-old girl killed as fire breaks out in Dadar police colony

MUMBAI: A 16-year-old teenager died in a fire that erupted in a residential building of Dadar police colony on Sunday afternoon.
A fire erupted in one of the buildings in the premises of Dadar Police station on Sunday afternoon around 1.40 pm. Four fire engines, three water tankers and an ambulance were rushed to the site.

The affected structure located at Bhavani Shankar road is a ground plus five storey residential building. Fire brigade officials have said that one girl was stranded inside one of the rooms on the third floor. The fire spread across electric wiring and household articles.
The stranded person was later identified as Shravani Chavan, 16, who was rushed to Sion hospital after being pulled out from the apartment. However she was declared brought dead before admission.
