Three docs booked for giving wrong medicines

Pune: Three doctors have been booked by Pimpri-Chinchwad police on charges of administrating wrong medicines to
a pregnant woman, Sapna Pawale (26), following which the woman and the child died. 

The incident took place on May 9.

Sapna’s husband, Sudhindra Machhindra Pawale (30) of Shikrapur, has lodged the complaint against the doctors of
Argade hospital and Criticare hospital.

According to police, the woman was first admitted to Argade hospital and then to Criticare hospital where she delivered a girl child, who was dead. 

After the woman’s condition deteriorated, she was taken to Aditya Birla Hospital, Chinchwad, where she was
declared dead on arrival. 

Her family members alleged that she was administered injections and medicines, resulting in her death.

Police officials said that they will take expert doctors committee opinion in the case. 

The accused doctors could not be reached for their comments. 

They have been booked for offences under section 304a (causing death due to negligence), 34 (common intention)
of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
