The Udupi Bar Association will organise a State-level Yakshagana competition for advocates at the Town Hall here on May 20 and 21.
Santosh Hebbar A., secretary of the Udupi Bar Association, told journalists here on Saturday that the competition will held in Tenku and Badagu schools of Yakshagana. Already eight teams of advocates from different places have confirmed participation. Teams of advocates can still register.
Besides the first and the second places, five individual prizes will be given separately for both Tenku and Badagu schools of Yakshagana.
B.A. Patil, judge, Karnataka High Court and Administrative Judge for Udupi district, will inaugurate the competition. C.M. Joshi, Principal District and Sessions Judge, and Padmaprasad Hegde, member, Karnataka State Bar Council, will be the guests. Raghupati Bhat, MLA, will preside over the valedictory function.
