Paediatric ICU opened at CMCH

An advanced paediatric intensive care unit (PICU) was inaugurated at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Saturday

The facility, costing a little less than ₹1 crore, was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Satellite.

B. Ashokan, Dean, CMCH, presided over the function, and A.V. Pathy, District Governor of Rotary International District 3201, was the chief guest. “The two-year project was completed with the guidance of Dr. Ashokan and team. Aquasub Engineering and Jewel One contributed ₹ 30 lakh and ₹ 10 lakh respectively,” R. Saravanan, president of Rotary Club of Coimbatore Satellite, said at the inauguration.

The PICU consists of 16 beds with five multi-functional aspects and eight advanced technicalities. Features like automatic noise, light, and climate control will support in plasma therapy and dialysis for children, CMCH doctors said.
