It is that time of the year again when the Ramadan food
melas
are up and about in the city. This year, however, it comes with an addition of convenience in payment. After eating the delicious iftar food in various pockets of Bengaluru, you can easily pay by mobile banking apps.

Walking into the Ramzan food
mela
on Bannerghatta Road, the smell of spiced meat and Haleem cooking welcomes you. Chef Atif, from Telangana, says, “We come down from Guntakal every year to make our haleem made of mutton. It is one of the most popular dishes eaten during Ramzan and takes about 11 hours to prepare with continuous stirring.” With the advances in technology, the stalls have also managed to keep up. Atif and the eateries around him have all started to accept payments from customers through various digital modes. There is no need to worry about not having exact change because, now, with just the press of a button, you can buy your meal.
Zainab Khan, who has been coming to this food
mela
since its inception four years ago, says, “I am glad that they have started accepting mobile payments because, it makes it easier for both the customers and the stall owners. It gives me the option of leaving my wallet back home and coming care free to the mela.”
